It’s Been a Minute

It’s been a little bit since I’ve written something, but that’s not for lack of things going on.

But where to start? I’ll cover more in the coming weeks/months, but most recently I had a minor surgery last Monday to repair an umbilical hernia. As with everything else in the world of myositis, my muscles have become weaker over time, and things like this are more common.

Unfortunately, the medication I take also makes it a bit more difficult to heal, so I’ve been feeling a bit rough. All things considered, the surgery went well.

Looking forward, I will likely be headed to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota in the coming months. I’ll spend a week meeting with several specialists in rheumatology and pulmonology. I’m eager to hear their knowledge, but I haven’t made a big trip like that in years. Preparing for it will be an exercise in mental and physical preparation.

Until then, let’s all make the most of what 2018 has to offer.
