I spent eight days at the University of Kansas Medical Center. They did a great job treating the flare and bringing the symptoms back under control temporarily. The staff was awesome, the ice cream was plenty and a special shout out to my dad and fiance for going out of their way to remind me I’m not alone.

I’m still not in fantastic shape, but that wasn’t the point. The point was to get close enough to my baseline to get ready for my next round of Rituxan infusions without the flare completely overtaking me. That had started to happen more than I even realized before I went in. My mental and physical abilities were in free fall. KU Med’s goal was to rebound acutely and give me a bit of a safety net.

Next round, four weeks of infusions. The carousel never stops turning, but for now it’s great to be home.
