Last night I decided to go to bed a bit earlier because I had a large spike in nausea. This has been happening every night over the weekend. While nausea itself is something I deal with every day, these waves were strong enough to completely override my medication and sleep.
One thing I have somewhat miraculously been able to avoid since getting diagnosed is actually vomiting. Well, unfortunately that streak had to end this morning. I checked with my doctors in order to try and figure out what could be causing this, or if I needed to head to the hospital (many things that seem minor for the average person have to be taken more serious). I was able to stay at home and sleep the day away but as I am here writing this I am still feeling quite weak and sick.
If I do not get better enough before sleeping again I will head in, otherwise I’ll check back with my primary in the morning. My own suspicion is that it may have something to do with my potassium. I’ve noted in previous posts that my potassium had been low for quite some time. We were finally able to reverse this by using potassium supplements in addition to a med called Spironolactone. The dose of that medicine was doubled last Thursday. So, I suspect that it is possible that either my potassium is climbing too high OR I’m not tolerating the new dose of the medicine very well.
Either way I should know by tomorrow, and in the meantime I pray for a good night’s sleep.
I hear you. I’m sorry your lucky streak ended. For the first yr I was Barf Queen. Turns out both my sodium and potassium were incredibly low. The sodium was mostly the cause. Get it attended to as soon as you are able.
