Breakout!

I’m out of the hospital!

Ok, so I’ve actually been out since Friday, but am just now getting to writing about it. I apologize for that but I’ve been feeling stupid sick the last few days.

Once I got there, we were focused on trying to boost my body’s system to make it to the next infusion, which has been scheduled for this Friday. In addition, my potassium was low at 2.5, and my blood sugar was high, hitting 450 at one point.

These sort of wild fluctuations are steroid-induced issues that are exacerbated by this or that. Because of the blood sugar for example, I’ve been on insulin both short-acting and long-acting insulin since last week in an attempt to combat the spike needed in steroid dosage. Those levels have already started to go back to normal and it should not be temporary, however I do need to continually monitor myself.

I have a few appointments this week with a couple of specialists I don’t see this week including podiatry, endocrinology and urology. All part of the process. Living the life, as life is always worth living.

Have a great week, and thanks a ton for all of the support.
