I’ve spent the week meeting with and talking to my team of doctors. As I mentioned the other day, I have a tumor on my left adrenal gland that may in fact be causing many of the symptoms I have been struggling with since my illness started. It is difficult to know for sure, however, and it is also unknown whether it is malignant or benign without removing it.

That being known, I have an appointment with a surgeon next week to talk about the adrenalectomy, and consider whether to move forward. I can elect to have the surgery now, or wait three months with increased medication and scan it again.

Given the weakness of my body already, surgery may be difficult to recover from. I would also most certainly have trouble with the beginning of the semester and would have to postpone my October wedding.
